34th Bike MS City to Shore Ride - 4th Annual Team UPHS/Penn

Bike-MS

This year marks the 34rd anniversary of the Bike MS City to Shore Ride. With your help, Team UPHS/PENN, will again be the largest team!  We’re counting on new and veteran cyclists to keep the momentum going and join the ride this September 27 and 28, for an even more successful year. Along with Gary Scheib, HUP executive director, UPHS COO, team founder, we hope to meet or surpass system-wide goals of recruiting 300 team members and raising $150,000 this year.

As always, there is truly an option for everyone. You can choose to participate as a cyclist, a virtual cyclist (if you can’t ride, but want to fundraise), or a volunteer at the team’s Finish Line Tent. Everyone who registers by July 20, receives a free Team UPHS/Penn jersey.

Thanks to the 2013 team of 288 riders last year, an amazing $174,740 was raised. During its 17 year existence, the Team UPHS/PENN has raised $1,575,000. The team also qualified for the highly-coveted Finish Line Tent and won five awards: the Circle of Distinction – awarded at the fall 2013 MS Society National Convention in Denver for teams surpassing the $1 million mark; Largest Corporate Team; Top Fund Raising Team; $100,000 Club; and Millennium Circle Team.

More than 13,000 people living locally with MS are counting on Team UPHS/PENN to help Create a World Free of MS™.  We can’t do it without you!

For more information contact Team Captain, Dan Wilson, at dan.wilson@uphs.upenn.edu or Suzanne Brown at suzanne.brown@uphs.upenn.edu.

Ride to Conquer Cancer©

Ride

Join Penn Medicine’sAbramson Cancer Center (ACC) on October 11-12, 2014 in the Ride to Conquer Cancer© (RTCC)—an unforgettable and epic bike ride through Pennsylvania’s picturesque scenery—towards one life-changing destination: to cure cancer.

At two-days and 150 miles the RTCC will be a physical challenge—and an emotional and inspirational weekend—that will give you a chance to join forces with our physicians, staff, patients, and families to leave everything on the bike course and raise serious funds and awareness in the ACC’s fight to cure cancer.

The funds raised through The Ride will be put to use immediately, powering our vision to eradicate cancer as a cause of human disease and suffering through precision medicine, novel research, next-generation therapies, and compassionate care. I am excited to be leading the UPHS/ACC Team with my co-captain, Ralph Muller, CEO, University of Pennsylvania Health System.

Your participation is essential! Join riders like Susan Ranck, who shared her personal motivation for participating, saying: "I am beyond grateful that funding from research enabled scientists to discover a drug that enables me to at least control my cancer...I am excited to ride and it’s my hope that with more time and money, the researchers at the Abramson Cancer Center will find a cure for my disease and all forms of cancer."

JOIN TODAY!
This remarkable event will bring together communities of cancer survivors, cyclists, and their supporters with a common goal of conquering this disease. We invite everyone to join us in October by registering today at ridetovictory.org or by calling (844) 777-7433.

Register now using the discount code Ride50 to sign up for only $50.

Remember, it's not just for avid cyclists; it's for all of us who want to do something big! I encourage you to share this opportunity with all of your friends and family. We're in this together.
