Survey Readiness

Ongoing survey readiness is not about the rush of activity that occurs the few months or weeks preceding an accreditation or licensure survey. It’s about maintaining it. Please take a moment to review the Accreditation/Regulatory themed Huddles and FAQs currently available on the Regulatory Affairs PennPoint site.

And look for new huddles that will be coming in the future. The first is about medication safety, which ensures that the right medication is given to the correct patient. Several safety strategies help reinforce medication safety, including:

Correct Labeling

Tall Man Lettering

Separating Look-Alike/Sound-Alike ( separate shelves or bins) drugs

Checking expiration date (no old drugs)

Double checking correct drug, correct dose, and correct patient
