Last month,
Emergency Department physicians and nurses, department chiefs, hospital
administrators and safety management personnel gathered together for the Annual
Emergency Department Disaster Preparedness Round Table Discussion. Lead by
course director Pete Sananman, MD, assistant professor of Clinical Emergency
Medicine at PPMC, the conference gathered together key stakeholders in an effort to share
and disseminate information
which will aid in the
improvement of Hospital Emergency Department
(ED) Specific disaster planning. Attendees
from the three main spheres of expertise
(safety/facilities, administration and
clinical) spent half a day interfacing and
exchanging ideas on training techniques,
and creating and implementing an
ED-specific disaster plan.
Many thanks to all who participated and attended the discussion!
