Last month, Good Shepherd Penn Partners (GSPP) opened an 11,000-square-foot outpatient neurorehabilitation facility on the first floor of Penn Medicine, Rittenhouse. It offers orthopaedic/sports medicine rehabilitation and specialized services for people with neurological issues, such as stroke brain injury, spinal cord injury, and multiple sclerosis. The new facility’s staff members include five specialized neurorehabilitation therapists.
The state-of-the-art outpatient site includes:
- Physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
- Rehabilitation technology, such as the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill.
- A 60-foot track with a special non-slip, lower-impact surface.
- Motion analysis equipment for golf swings, running, and gait.
- Amputee rehabilitation program.
- Hand therapy.
- An ADL (aids of daily living) area for helping patients regain the ability to do daily activities at home.
- Wheelchair Seating and Mobility Clinic.
- Separate gyms for orthopaedic and neurological patients.
