In September, nearly 300 UPHS employees, friends and families came together as the largest team in the 2011 Bike MS: City to Shore Ride. The UPHS/PENN team raised more than $124,000 this year, bringing its 15-year total to over $1.25 million! The team also took top honors as the ride’s top fundraising team honor for 2011.
Along with the millions of dollars which fuel local support for people with MS and MS research, the National MS Society also funds the important work that UPHS is doing in the field of MS research and patient care. The Society has invested more than $6.2 million in UPHS researchers since 2004. During this past year alone, the MS Society has recognized UPHS leadership and invested $1.35 million in research, making it the largest annual investment recorded over the past eight years. Additionally, more annual projects are funded with UPHS than any other area institution.
