Heartfelt Thanks: PPMC Lab Technician Spots a Clot

Thank-youMy father had his weekly blood work done by technician Janet Bryant. At the time, she noticed his arm was swollen.  Janet alerted me and suggested I notify the doctor about my father’s arm. After Dr. [Jack] Goldberg, [Chief of Hematology Oncology at PPMC,] examined his arm, we were sent to the emergency room for a more thorough examination. A doppler test showed that he had a blood clot. He was hospitalized for 6 days to treat the condition.

In my opinion, Janet was very astute when she noticed my father’s arm and her action saved my father’s life. In coming to the Abramson Cancer Center at Penn Presbyterian for a long period of time, I have always found Janet to  be a professional. She is very efficient, helpful, compassionate and hard working. After this experience, I’m adding life-saver to the list of her attributes.
