Open Enrollment for benefits begins Monday, April 18, and runs through Sunday, May 1. This is your opportunity to think about your benefits needs and decide which plans are best for you.
Look for changes in medical plan designs, the prescription plan, employee contribution rates and structure, and more.
Also new this year is WellFocused, a program designed to promote and encourage healthy behavior that fits into your every day schedule and lifestyle. All of the programs and services are free and completely confidential. An important part of the WellFocused program is a Personal Health Assessment (PHA), which provides a quick and reliable snapshot of your current health status based in part on your 'numbers.'
When you complete the health and lifestyle questionnaire, you will instantly receive a personalized plan. You’ll also receive a $130 reduction in your annual health-care premiums ($5 per paycheck). The questionnaire takes about 15 minutes to complete and is confidential. Look for more information about this program in the next HUPdate.
All employees should have received the 2011-2012 Open Enrollment Newsletter -- which provide more details about the benefit changes -- in the mail. If you have not, contact the Benefits Office at 615-2675. For more information, click here.
Get Your Numbers!
Before you take the Personal Health Assessment, you’ll need to know your numbers, such as total cholesterol and blood pressure. If you’re not sure, be sure to come to a free, onsite screening on Wednesday, April 13 and Thursday, April 14, in the former radiology suite on the Bridge Level of Penn Tower. The screening will provide the following information:
- blood pressure,
- triglycerides, total cholesterol, and glucose
- body mass index
While fasting is not required, it is encouraged to fast for eight hours prior to your screening for best results. In addition, it is recommended that you drink plenty of water beforehand so you’re well hydrated.
15 minutes and a simple finger stick is all it takes for the biometric screenings. Dates and times are offered:
