Cancer survivor and cycling champion Lance Armstrong was joined by former Eagles player Dhani Jones as he visited with oncology inpatients on Rhoads 7.  After visiting two patients in isolation, Armstrong and Jones spoke with additional mobile inpatients, their family members, and staff in a conference room on the unit. They wrapped up their visit with a meet-and-greet in the Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine.  In attendance were a group of over 40 former, and current, cancer patients from Penn’s Abramson Cancer Center.

Armstrong and Jones were in town to take part in the LIVESTRONG™ Challenge, the signature fundraiser that benefits the Lance Armstrong Foundation and Penn's LIVESTRONG™ Survivorship Center of Excellence Living Well After Cancer Program for adults and childhood cancer survivors.

According to Challenge team captain Sue Anne Clark of Business Development, Penn’s team had more than 100 members this year, almost triple the size of last year. They raised a whopping $36,718.37!
