The new Presby STAR program, which stands for Service,
Teamwork, Achievement and Respect, grew out of the successful Magnet
Moment program and will start in August. Nomination forms will be available at
points throughout the hospital. Employees, patients and visitors can nominate
an individual for their outstanding efforts and place the ballot in any of the
ballot boxes around campus.
The program will “formally recognize – and reward – our employees for the outstanding contributions they make on a daily basis, helping our patients, visitors and coworkers,” said Lab director Michael Atweh, who worked with AllenFasnacht, RN, BSN, Nurse Manager for the Emergency Department & Occupational Medicine and other members of the Culture of Excellence Council to develop this program.
Each month, five nominees will be randomly selected and will be presented with a certificate and monetary award. In addition their names will be displayed on the Presby STAR Wall of Fame, which will be located in the hallway in the Cafeteria entrance and here in the Presby Bulletin.
“Our patients and visitors often wish there was a way they could thank their nurse, transport worker, or any of the staff members who make their stay here enjoyable,” said Betty Hooper, director of Patient and Guest Services. “Now, they’ll be able to nominate these outstanding employees for Presby STAR recognition.”
Please look for additional information from your manager in the next few weeks. Once the forms and nomination boxes are available, please take a moment to recognize your fellow PPMC employees for their exceptional efforts.
