The Magnet Document writing has begun. Nursing leaders and various Magnet committees at PPMC have started compiling the volumes of information necessary to support our application for Magnet status.
“Writing the Magnet document is a very exhilarating time for me,” said CNO Mike Becker. “The more I write, the more I know that Penn Presbyterian Nurses deserve Magnet designation.
”Our Magnet groups have been very hard at work. On May 3, the Nursing Communication and Coordinating Council pulled off another successful Magnet Monday. Another group, the Magnet Foundation team, brought in homemade candy on May 7, raising more than $300 selling their confectionery treats.
“From the simple Magnet Moments that people have submitted to the more complex Magnet Mondays that have been presented, every contribution is important in our effort to maintain the Culture of Excellence here at PPMC,” said Bill Hudson, who is spearheading PPMC’s Magnet quest.
Six members of the Magnet document writing group traveled to Penn State Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania to learn how to improve upon our wealth of knowledge in composing PPMC’s Magnet document. The team learned how to better represent our outstanding achievements on paper and incorporate the DAISY Award, Magnet Moments and other examples of recognition into the document.“As the Magnet journey continues, the support we’ve received from physicians, staff, and administration becomes even more important,” said Becker. “We truly can’t do it without your continued support and participation!”
